About
Welcome to Club Trader Joe’s Substack Newsletter! My name is Steve and I am the driving force behind this blog and newsletter. This is a substack based newsletter which is the companion to the Club Trader Joe’s website/blog in which we review Trader Joe’s products and sometimes post recipes using Trader Joe’s products.
We are not affiliated with Trader Joe’s in any way. We are just long time loyal customers. I have been shopping at Trader Joe’s for almost 25 years. We never hold anything back and Trader Joe’s has definitely released some duds over the years and I’ll let you know!
I started the blog on a whim about 14 years ago and maybe even longer, it is hard to remember when I actually started my first blog as I moved it around a couple of times. I was trying to do two things at once and that was try out this new blogging thing back in about 2009. I started on Blogger and then moved to self hosted Wordpress a couple of years later. It was a way for me to keep track of the Trader Joe’s products I liked and what my kids liked.
Back in 2010, there were just a few of us talking about Trader Joe’s online. We followed each other on Instagram and Facebook but now there are so many people talking about Trader Joe’s products it’s a little daunting.
In 2021, I applied for Mediavine and was accepted and it’s done a lot for my blog and my traffic.
In late 2023, I discovered Substack and will be moving my subscriber newsletter to this platform as it offers more flexibility for what I want to do for a newsletter.
I have moved hundreds of my reviews to the Paid subscription area of this Substack recently and if you want to read them without ads, I am offering a paid subscription model so you can read them without the hassle of popups and email registrations.
It takes a lot of work to write these reviews, much less buy the products from Trader Joe’s. Please support me in this effort. Thanks!
Why subscribe?
On Substack, you will get my newsletter, reviews without ads. There will be other quick short updates that I won’t post on my website because it’s just not that easy with Wordpress. I am in the process of writing a cookbook to complement my blog and that content will go here on Substack for readers to review and provide feedback.
